Golden Moments at Ormond Point, St Kilda π
The sky painted dreams for all to see. ✨
A Sunset to Remember π
The sun dipping into the ocean, painting the sky in shades of gold, yellow, pink and lavender. The waves gently kiss the shore, a soft rhythm that feels like nature’s own heartbeat. This is Ormond Point, nestled between Elwood and St Kilda, a little slice of heaven that Micky and I discovered on an ordinary day turned extraordinary. π
The Path Less Taken πΆ♀️π♂️
We started our journey on the scenic walking and running track that hugs the coastline, weaving through lush greenery and offering stunning views of Port Phillip Bay. The sound of sneakers tapping against the path and the occasional bark of happy dogs set the perfect backdrop. πΎ Couples strolled hand in hand, kids laughed on their scooters, and joggers passed by with a wave and a smile. π
If you’re a runner, this track feels like a dream—the cool breeze and ocean spray keep you refreshed as you push forward. And for walkers like us that evening, it was more about the journey than the pace. π¬️
A Hidden Gem – The White Crown and Stone Pier π
At the top of Ormond Point, a beautiful white and a striking trig tower standing proudly as a symbol of navigation and discovery. This isn’t just a surveying tool for engineers; it’s a portal to peace.
This small, elevated structure, painted in pristine white, marks the highest point of the hill and offers breathtaking panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay.

| Under the white shed, we found our peace, Moments like these, life’s sweetest release. πΊ |
We found ourselves drawn to the benches nearby, facing the endless blue horizon. Sailboats floated lazily in the distance, their sails glinting under the soft sunlight. Time seemed to pause as we soaked in the beauty of the bay. ⛵π
Nearby, the playground buzzed with life. π Kids were swinging, their giggles soaring higher than the swings themselves. Parents watched fondly, their dogs lying contentedly at their feet. It felt like a postcard moment—a slice of everyday life that warms the heart. π₯°
A Peek into History π°️
Did you know? St Kilda has been a beloved retreat for Melburnians since the 19th century. Ormond Point was once part of a booming seaside resort scene. The nearby St Kilda Pier—another must-visit spot—was built in the 1850s and remains a favorite for fishing and evening strolls. Legend even has it that the waters here have inspired countless poets and painters over the decades. π¨π
Interestingly, the hill itself was once a landfill, carefully transformed into a public space through meticulous planning and earthworks. This is a great example of urban renewal and repurposing land for community benefit—something civil engineers strive to achieve.
Micky’s Favorite Moment ❤️
As the sun dipped lower, Micky turned to me and said, “This is like a scene from a movie, isn’t it?” π₯ And it truly was. The golden glow, the sound of waves, the silhouettes of people making memories—it felt surreal. We hummed a few lines of "Ye Shaam Mastaani....Madhosh kiyeee jaaye" πΆπ΅ and let the beauty of the moment sink in. π₯Ή

| #Sukhna Lake memoriesπ |
In that tranquil moment, memories of our weekends at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh ❤️ surfaced. Those early days of our relationship were filled with stolen glances and shy smiles as we sat by the serene waters. ππ
The way the sunlight sparkled on the lake felt similar to the shimmer on Port Phillip Bay that evening. Back then, we’d sip coconut water from a roadside stall, sharing dreams about the future, completely lost in each other’s company. Tonight, at Ormond Point, it felt like we had come full circle, carrying those cherished memories into a new chapter of our story. π
#Chasing sunsets, catching memories. ππ«
